Ringing in the year with some good news, Marla is excited to share her new home at a beautiful boutique on Presidio Ave. in the heart of San Francisco.  Circle & Square offers fiercely creative independent style and Marla fits right in.  Six one-of-a-kind Marla originals adorn the shelves and hang from decorative branches.   It’s only been a few days, but she feels right at home amongst the chic accessories that Circle & Square has to offer.  She’d love a visit so if you’re in the area let us know and she’ll look out for you!

I am extremely excited to be chosen for Senator Gillibrand’s Mobility Mentoring Initiative. This is an amazing opportunity initiated by Senator Gillibrand and produced by the Council of Urban Professionals and the Partnership for New York City to support young women in their entrepreneurial endeavors. I’ll be partnered with an executive from Macy’s Inc. and am looking forward to sharing the success of this experience.

You get in because you can’t get out, you stay because you believe.  They come together like a ring of fire.  A spark at first, then a flare, a brush stroke, a storm.  Images come from books, dreams, memories that you live and bury.  Once the first lines are down, they take on a life of their own, no thought, no questions, just movement, one color after the next, in succession, without a pause.  This goes on for quite some time and then in a flash it’s done.  Not another drop, not another line.  Immediately after they look like a scrambled mess, you can’t make out anything.  You slide it over and onto the next.  But the next day, after the pictures, some sleep, some coffee, you look back and they’re staring at you.  You jump out of your skin because they are alive, talking, laughing and being together.  One is sassy, the other shy, one a temptress, one an intellectual.  They roll around in all your stories but the most rewarding is when they make their own.  They forgive your mistakes and encourage you to go on.  Their world is vast, they invite you in, and you accept because you can’t deny.
